I’m ready for the cherry blossoms to come out! The magnolias have been gorgeously making their appearance amongst us here in DC, but I’m hoping this sunshine and warmer weather will bring out these blooms for at least a weekend or two so long as the allergies stay far, far away.
As much as I love the color combination of pink and gray, there’s nothing like a good jet black to keep you grounded. The natural pink from this Lupine dress would go great with some black booties or sandals for the summer. This pink opal geo diamond cuff would pair well with that dress [I've been hooked on cuffs lately], too. And I had to throw these awesome matchbooks in from The Social Type – they’re extra long which makes them great for lighting multiple candles in one strike. Get a good black and gold watch, like this Kensington leather piece and dress it down with these stretch jersey tapered pants from UNIQLO. Yeah, I just posted a pair of sweats on the blog. Say whaat?!
Who’s up for a weekend trip? I’d love to road trip down to the Carolinas or finally make it to Philly for even just a day trip. Pack up your car, buy a train/plane ticket and get out of town for some breathing room when you need it and don’t have any PTO. If you pack light, all you need is one of these weekenders and you don’t even have to check anything in [who likes to do that anyway?].
Grab a friend and one of these beauts and hit the road:
1 / Baggu duffel bag in chestnut
2 / cuyana canvas and leather overnight bag
3 / Everlane reverse denim weekender
4 / Muji water repellant polyester bag
5 / Herschel Supply Co. packable duffel bag
6 / Kate Spade Saturday weekender in steel blue signature zig zag
Back to the reality of this weather. Here are some things that have been helping me survive this indecisive season. What are some winter essentials you keep with you?
1 / Harney and Sons Paris Tea is my personal favorite.
2 / C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Soap Free Cleanser is a little saving grace to have in my bathroom mirror.
3 / This Bulleit Bourbon is great for making hot toddies on blistering cold nights.
4 / Candles. The more the merrier. These Sydney Hale Co. candles are made in small batches right in Virginia and smell absolutely divine. I love that they come in different packaging depending on the scent.
5 / These Nap socks from Brookstone are a definite must-have. I wear ‘em in my boots and around the house.
6 / My newest discovery is the Aesop Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm that I’ve decided will be forever stocked in my purse.
I promise after this I’ll try to stop talking about the weather. It really is the most ridiculous winter of my life.
I hope everyone had a fantastic long weekend for Valentine’s and President’s Day! I was on quite the journey if you couldn’t tell from my Instagrams lately – lots of fun [and great food!] with a handful of my favorite people. But hey, I’m back in DC and bringing you a few things with a pinch of pink.
